I am Jinkun Chen (he/him/his), a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada.
My work studies how language-model systems can remain understandable, reliable, and useful as they remember more, act for longer, and interact with people. I am supervised by Dr. Vlado Keselj and co-supervised by Dr. Evangelos Milios.

My research sits between human-centered AI and the technical foundations of intelligent systems. The recurring question is not only what an AI system can do, but whether people can understand, evaluate, and rely on it over time.

Methods and interfaces that make model behavior easier to inspect, with particular attention to fairness, trustworthiness, and responsibility.

Reliable long-term memory and open-ended co-evolution in language-model agents that operate across extended interactions.

Visual and computational tools that help people reason with complex scientific data, including occasional work with marine environments.

Beyond my academic and professional roles, I am a co-founder of Exorcat Technologies Ltd. and the founder of Jinnkunn Consulting Inc.
I hold the Project Management Professional (PMP) credential and an Advanced Open Water diver certification. I am also training as a fixed-wing pilot and play the Chinese bamboo flute.
My Chinese name is 陈晋坤 (chén jìn kūn). My family belongs to the Yimen Chen lineage of the Yiling branch. I keep a short place note on Yiling, Yichang, and the Three Gorges.
